Four Gold Medals and Two Silvers for Invicta's Euros Stars

All six Invicta Touch players who were representing England at the European Touch Championships in France won medals with their respective teams.

England beat Ireland 7-6 in a thrilling men’s open final at the Parc Omnisports in Vichy on Saturday. In the process Vaughn Meredith won a fifth consecutive opens division gold medal. Invicta’s Gus Lister was also part of the England triumph as an analyst supporting the team.

Suz Wilson won the women’s 40s division for a second time as England beat Scotland 8-0 in the final.

In the men’s 55s, Adrian Riggs and Martin Reynard starred in the England team that defeated Wales 4-1 to claim gold. Martin, who was a late addition to the squad having originally been named as a reserve, was named player of the final.

In the mixed open division, after a series of impressive wins took them to the final, Lydia Ticehurst and England had to settle for the silver medal as hosts France ran out 9-6 winners.

It was silver also for Dan Dyer and the England men’s 45s — with the French victorious in the final after the two teams had traded victories in the pool stage — while Eddie French won a bronze medal as assistant coach of the England men’s 50s side.
