Invicta Masters Players Face Japan Challenge

Three Invicta Touch players are heading to Japan in October as England take on the world’s best teams in the inaugural Asia-Pacific Seniors Touch Cup.

Although the event is primarily for nations in the Asia-Pacific region, other countries, including England, have been invited to take part. Teams from Australia and New Zealand have long been the benchmark in international touch so for England the tournament represents an opportunity for its seniors and masters teams to test themselves against higher-level opposition as they build towards the 2028 World Cup in New Zealand.

Fresh from their triumph at the European Championships in France in July, Adrian Riggs and Martin Reynard have once again been selected in the England men’s over-55s squad. They will take on Australia, New Zealand, and hosts Japan over the four days.

In the men’s 45s Dan Dyer retains his place in the England team that won Euros silver in the summer as they face world champions Australia, World Cup runners-up New Zealand, hosts Japan, and Chinese Taipei in their division.

The Asia-Pacific Seniors Touch Cup begins on Wednesday 7th October at the Tochigi Sports Park in Utsunomiya and concludes with the medal matches on Saturday 10th October.
